Dog training has never been just a career path for me, but a lifestyle choice. Always learning, with hopes of one day innovating. Striving for more knowledge, and understanding of the canine species. Better ways to teach owners to have a stronger connection with their dogs. For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about animals: Dogs, Horses, Livestock, Cats, Wildlife. Growing up I had numerous dogs all of different breeds rescued and from breeders. At the age of six I started my first “business” called Pet T.L.C (Tender Loving Care) a dog walking business that involved me going to each neighbor in my Cul-De-Sac and taking their dog for a walk. Then I would give the pup a bath & or brushing before returning it back home. I was hooked. From there I went onto having horses, competing, and eventually training. All the while working with dogs, my own, and the occasional friends dog. Including my very own golden retriever, Buddy, being trained for search and rescue. He was a master at tracking, and was the all around family canine that everyone strives for. Since then I have strived to learn more in the canine field, by working with hundreds of different dogs, from; therapy dog training, pet training, rescue dog groups, service dog training, and breaking into the working dog world. Working with dozens of different dog trainers all from different backgrounds, and methods taking the best from each to build a solid program. Including, in my youth years I strove for a deeper knowledge for not only dogs, but horses as well. Both managing and training young horses. Along with a mentorship program with the world renowned organization “Guide Dogs For The Blind”. Also, assisting in running a well established Doggy Daycare “The Puppy Playhouse”. I’ve become incredibly well versed in analyzing not only canine body language and behavior but equines as well. It is with this knowledge that I fell in love with teaching owners to gain a deeper bond with their canines. As they continue to be educated in not only dog training, but also dog psychology. It is with my belief that good trainers never stop being educated. So our team is always striving for more knowledge & education on proven science based training methods.
Koda is a 7 year old Cattle Dog. My right hand dog, and personal Assistance Dog. Koda’s ability to handle even the most stressful of scenarios has became a vital part in helping client dogs overcome anxiety and fear based behaviors. His loyalty, and drive has no bounds. From Koda’s birth to now he has never failed any expectations I’ve had for him. Together we have accomplished a lot. He has been trained in medical alerting, herding cows, search and rescue, retrieval, and we are working on more advanced tricks. This dog loves to learn, and never ceases to put a smile on your face!
Reo is the dog that will always bring a smile to your face. My 11 year old rescue Australian Shepherd/Border Collie. When I rescued Reo at age 3, he was not the dog he is today. With no structure or boundaries he struggled with reactivity and fear based aggression. His prey drive was through the roof. Chasing cars, eating bunnies, chickens, you name it. This boy on our first day together bit both my horse’s leg and my face. From that point on the training really started. Reo now is an anxiety detection dog, and successfully has been one of the best family canines. As well as an astounding Therapy dog for many years now. He reminds me to have fun. His willingness to learn, and love for the world lights up a room.
Cat, known as “Puppy Cat” is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois, who is currently being trained to compete in PSA. When Cat fell into our lives we were not necessarily looking, but we can’t imagine our lives without her now. She is naturally one of the most empathetic canines I have owned. She has proven to be incredibly stable minded, and has a true love to work. We are excited to see where this pup goes in her training career.
